Puerto Rico

This week’s highlights include:
- Re-create your favorite Latin rhythm using Soundtrap in our technology lab
- Salsa dance lessons
- Musical jam session with parents and friends
- Camp Showcase via Zoom
Our focal country of the week will be Puerto Rico, home of an eclectic array of art, culture and globally recognized Bomba music and dance. Campers will learn ways that our bodies movements constitute a work of art. Campers will enhance their Spanish skills through a range of music and artistic language structures.
*Campers receive a daily snack, time for lunch, and all activity supplies. Campers bring their lunch from home.
La Vida es Deliciosa

¡Qué rico! Discover kid-friendly gastronomical delights with us.
Your camper is bound to walk away a foodie after experiencing the richness of Spanish culinary traditions, while comparing them with American ones.
This week’s highlights include:
- Tapa Palooza: Latin potluck
- Learn the origin of natural ingredients via a virtual reality trip to a tropical farm
- Musical mash-up of food-related Latin American children’s songs and games
- Los platos típicos: Students work with our teacher-chef to prepare a few typical dishes and drinks from overseas
- Camp Showcase via Zoom
Our focal country, which is also the motherland of Spanish, will be Spain! Your child will go from camper to chef the moment they enter the “Cocina Bilingüe”. Our Bilingual Chefs will be introduced to foreign cuisine and have the ability to try preparing new food in Spanish. Also they will study foods from abroad, their ingredients and what they mean to the culture they originate from. We conclude the week with a special potluck with family and friends. You’re invited!

Oh my! Come join us as we explore los animales!
This week’s highlights include:
- Virtual Reality Trip to the Amazonian Rainforest
- Fun-filled animal themed games
- Mini-Portuguese language workshop
- Camp Showcase via Zoom
Whether they love them from afar or up close, this week is for all our animal-loving campers. Join us as we take a closer look at Brazil, which holds about 10% of all species in the world! Campers will be able to learn about our 2, 4, 8 and no-legged friends who share this world with us. We will use vocabulary to describe animals around us. We’ll also learn about ecosystems abroad and animal actions such as run, slither, shed, roar all in español. And, it doesn’t stop there! Campers will have a mini-Portuguese lesson in honor of our focal country. Enjoy a special appearance by a friendly furry friend or two during camp.

My daughters thoroughly enjoyed their Brilliant Bilingual Summer Camp experience. They both learned, but most importantly, retained more during the two weeks of camp than attending a semester class at their school!
